All year long, we’ve been collecting TV’s best sound bites in our Quotes of the Week compilations, which honor the dialogue that made us laugh and cry — sometimes simultaneously. But as 2021 draws to a close, we’re now looking back at the Quotes of the Year, highlighting 60 of the funniest, most poignant or most wonderfully meta moments from the past 12 months.

In the list below, you’ll find The CW’s new Batwoman marveling at the extent of her power, a profound final share for Mom‘s Bonnie at Alcoholics Anonymous, Evil‘s very first F-bomb after its relocation to a streaming service, and David Schwimmer’s real feelings about Marcel the monkey, revealed during HBO Max’s long-awaited Friends reunion.

Meanwhile, NBC’s Superstore, Disney+’s Loki and CBS’ NCIS are among the shows making more than one appearance in our roundup, because picking just one standout line proved impossible. Plus, we’ve got bon mots and one-liners from Prodigal Son, The Bachelorette, Lucifer, The Flash, What We Do in the Shadows and The White Lotus, to name but a few.

Though it probably goes without saying, we’ll say it anyway: Our Quotes of the Year list includes lotsa spoilers for plot twists, romantic confessions, heartbreaking sendoffs and more. If you aren’t caught up on your favorite series, we’d recommend bookmarking this page for later.

But if you’re ready to dive in, simply scroll through the list below, then drop a comment with the lines that would make your cut for Quotes of the Year.
