About My Cookbook: "A" Book, But Not "THE" Book
Here's a little HD walk-through of the new cookbook. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't any confusion that this was some sort of official Food Wishes cookbook. Hopefully that will happen very soon, but in the meantime I'm very proud to have authored this great collection of American recipes for the highly regarded Parragon Publishing. As I brag about in the video, what you see, is what you get. I was allowed to photograph all the recipes I prepared for the book. For better or worse, there are no photo studio tricks here – just simple home cooking as it really looks, imperfections and all. I'm not exactly sure whether I'll sell them directly from the blog, or simply refer people to Amazon, but I will post more detailed ordering information as soon as it comes available. You can pre-order the book on Amazon, but be sure to use this link, so Chef John gets a little taste of the action. Thanks!

Chef:
Very nice. A great chef and a great photographer, too. Clearly a man of many talents.
I'll probably order it through my local indie bookstore. I like to support local businesses whenever I can.

I am buying this. Through the link on your page of course;)
But what I am really looking forward to is the official Foodwishes cookbook! One for me and one for my daughter who is in college. You are managing to teach her to cook .. something I was never able to inspire when she was at home ... baking .. yes ... cooking ... no. For her first year away she was a starving student ... but not anymore! She is even growing her own herbs on her balcony! YAY! She is mostly vegetarian but not totally by choice ... by budget and you're recipes are stretching that budget in a good way ;)

Just got the cookbook from Amazon.ca yesterday! It looks great and I can't wait to give some of these a try! (I now need to go out and buy a loaf pan...)
Loved the commentary in the recipes.
I found a few typos in the book. Do I get a prize? ;-)

I think you said in the other entry about the book that you were autographing them. Are you still doing that?
I'll be buying it regardless, of course. :D

I bought this book at Barnes & Noble and was really interested in the recipes, and couldn't help but notice that a lot of them seemed similar to yours and I was getting very angry that someone had stolen your recipes and published them. Only to find out that you were the author! I felt very silly, but it's nice to know I'm a fan of your stuff even when I don't have the bias of knowing it came from you!

I bought the book and it was well worth it. The sections I liked best were the soups and breads/breakfast section. The recipes are similar to what you would find on this blog and what I was hoping for. When I look for a new recipe book, I look for pictures of the meals. It gives me a reference point as to how the finished product should look like. Each recipe in the book comes with a picture of it which I find to be invaluable.

Hi Chef John!
I'll confess, this may be an odd message. I came to learn about you through my roommate who is a huge fan. He has confessed that you are his favourite chef. I wanted to try and do something special for Christmas and was wondering if you could help?- December 1, 2018 at 10:39 AM
