What happens at the end of Love Never Dies? ›

Christine reveals to Gustave that the Phantom is his real father and she tells the Phantom that her love for him will never die. The Phantom and Christine share a final kiss and she dies in his arms. The Phantom has Meg hold Christine's body as he moves to comfort Gustave, who unmasks him without fear.

Raoul is broken-hearted when he realizes her love for the Phantom has never died and he exits the stage. Immediately afterwards, Christine goes to her dressing room with the Phantom and finds a note from Raoulapologizing and asking her forgiveness.

As musical, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is better than LOVE NEVER DIES, by a lot. As movie, LOVE NEVER DIES (2012) is better than THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (2004), by a bit.

Later, when Christine is dying, she tells Gustave that the Phantom is her father, causing him to run away. However, Gustave instead looks to his biological father with his heart, rather than his eyes and finally accepted his real father.

"Christine is now married to Raoul. Their marriage isn't the happiest, but she has become a very well-known, international opera singer. She and Raoul have a preteen son, named Gustave. Christine believes the Phantom to be dead; she may miss him, but she never says much about it.

Meg loses her temper at this remark and as the Phantom grapples with her, Meg accidentally fires the gun at Christine; fatally wounding her. The Phantom drops to his knees and holds Christine in his arms as Meg watches, horrified by what she has done.

Heartbroken, Meg decides to take her own life and kill Gustave by drowning in the sea to get back at the Phantom and Christine.

Lloyd Webber originally began conceptualizing “Love Never Dies” in the early 1990s, following the instant stardom of “The Phantom of the Opera.” His inspiration was a TV documentary about Coney Island. The project fell apart in its early stages because Lloyd Webber didn't see his ideas adapting well to the stage.

Meg Giry is Madame Giry's daughter and Christine Daaé's best friend in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical The Phantom of the Opera and the main antagonist in its stage musical sequel Love Never Dies.

The singing is top notch, and some numbers are good, but the story is thin, and it's just not that good for the sequel to 'The Phantom of The Opera'. The show is spectacular, and definitely improves as it goes on, but it takes a while. The ending feels a little forced, and overly dramatic.

She eventually is given an ultimatum-to live out her days with the Phantom, or see Raoul killed. In a moment of pity and compassion, Christine kisses the Phantom, in an effort to show him kindness for the first time in his life.

True love never dies meaning is wrapped up in testing the notion that real love does not fade over time and true lovers can move past challenges in a healthy manner. In an ideal world, true love should be able to withstand any test that comes its way, even the one of time. It is resilient and grows deeper with time.

Phantom of the Opera makes it clear that the Phantom did not sleep with Christine. When in the lair at the end of the musical, Christine asks him outright if he is (finally) going to rape her.

She becomes jealous of her best friend Christine after working so hard for the Phantom's recognition and failing. After being disregarded by The Phantom and feeling unappreciated by her mother, she kidnaps Christine's child, Gustav, and threatens to kill him.

Christine later revealed the truth to her son, that the Phantom was his birth father.

The Phantom tortures him until Christine kisses him, giving the Phantom something he never had before: compassion and love. The Phantom is so touched by Christine's selfless nature and actions that he releases Raoul, deciding to let the woman he loves to be free to choose her life. Christine would later marry Raoul.

During Christine's performance, Meg kidnaps Gustave and ignoring his pleas leads him to the pier. Heartbroken, Meg decides to take her own life and kill Gustave by drowning in the sea to get back at the Phantom and Christine.

Christine faints in the movie when the Phantom shows her his wax figure of her (which is actually Emmy Rossum made up to look waxy and porcelain) in a wedding dress and veil. In the novel, he apparently drugs her on the way to his lair. Once there, she revives and becomes perfectly lucid.
