So it's someones seventieth birthday coming up and you're stuck on what to put on their birthday cake, right? Well here I have compiled a list of my favorite ones that actually have meaning to that person instead of just writing the big "70" on a sheet cake. When you decide on what to put on it, think about that persons hobbies, interests, past memories, future comings, and things that make them happy. The most common ideas for a person turning 70 is usually for golf, knitting, tennis, fishing, traveling, etc. but I have added some more cool ideas for you! It may look like these cakes cost a lot of money but you can actually buy your own fondant kits, frosting decorating tools, 70th birthday candles, and cake molds for cheap! 70th Knitting Birthday Cake - This cake is great for anyone who has the love for knitting! It is so adorable they made the yarn, scissors, needle, and button out of edible fondant!
70th Birthday Teacup Cake - I think we all know that tea is a popular drink for people aging 70 so if you know a lover, definitely check this out! They made a saucer and teacup out of edible materials and added two real cookies on the side, how cute.
Hot Air Balloon Birthday Cake - I think this cake is so creative. If you know someone who loves hot air balloon rides or has a connection with them consider this one. It looks fairly easy if you use fondant, just put the big "70" on the balloon part and use two toothpicks to connect the bottom.
70th Globe 3D Cake - Wow! This lady made a cake with a huge 3D globe of the Earth and put it on top of a regular cake. This would be fantastic for someone who has traveled the world in their life!
Guitar Lover 70th Birthday Cake- If someone plays the guitar and has a passion for music, look at this cake. They have the man playing the guitar and put 3D music notes around the sides, so cool!
70th Golfer Birthday Cake - This one is so simple yet so fun. If you know someone who loves golf or used to play, try this cake. It has a lady figurine standing up holding a golf club on the course.
Golf Bag Birthday Cake- Here's another one for golfers, it is shaped like a golf bag with clubs sticking out on the top, so cool.
Scrabble 70th Birthday Cake- If you know older people, you know that scrabble is one of their favorite games! Why not turn their whole cake into a scrabble board?! This is so unique, you just spell Happy Birthday on the letter pieces.

Birthday Cake for Readers- Here's a creative cake where they turned it into a leather bound book (could be a bible if they are religious). The coolest part is they actually used a real ribbon to make it look like a page bookmarker! I think any reader would appreciate this cake on their seventieth birthday.
Tennis Lovers Cake - For the people who love tennis, consider putting tennis rackets on their cake! This one is quite simple yet elegant.
70th Vegetable Gardener Cake- If the birthday man/woman grew vegetables in their garden every year this is a fun idea to incorporate into their dessert. These veggies were made out of gumpaste and fondant, I love that they look like they're in a basket!

Motorhome Seventieth Cake - If they have a connection with traveling or living in a motor home this is a good idea. They sculpted an awesome motor home in the back and put grandma/grandpa on the lawn in front of it.

The Painter Birthday Cake- Was this person a painter or just love to paint? This is creative because they put a paint can and paint brush on top of the cake!
70th Hippie Cake- Well, bring the birthday person back to the 70s by adding funny hippies to your cake! They used bright colors that make it lively.
Card Player Cake - This cake is for all the card lovers out there that play poker, blackjack, rummy, or just solitaire by themselves! This person put a Queen card on top for a woman, but you can put a King card on top for a man.
Holy Crap You're Old Toilet Cake - This one is hilarious! I recommend you only make this cake if the birthday person is a jokester otherwise they might find it disturbing. They shaped the whole cake into a toilet seat and put fake poop inside. On the cover they wrote "Holy crap you're old!" haha!
Sewing Machine 70th Birthday Cake - This one is great for all the sewers and seamstresses! I know my grandma can't live without her swinger sewing machine why not turn the whole cake into it? Probably one of the most unique cakes I've seen.
70th Gambler Bithday Cake- Haha! This cake is great for the people that love to go to the casino or have won a jackpot before. The whole cake is made to look like the machine!
The Purse Lover Cake- This is great for any lady that loves her purses or has a purse addition hehe you could even replicate her real purse.
70th Farmer Birthday Cake - Was this person a farmer? Do they love john deere tractors?! This is the perfect one for you. It's a three layer cake with a tire, tractor, and hay....love it!
Travel Suitcase Cake- Here's a unique cake for all the travelers out there. It is shaped like a brown suitcase with stickers of places they've been to.
70th Couch Potato Cake - This one is perfect for all those people who love to just sit around in their lazy chair and watch TV! It's funny too, they will sure get a laugh out of it.
BBQ Grill Master Cake- I like this cake because the whole thing is shaped like a grill! I know lots of people in their 70s that love to BBQ so this could be perfect. They even made the tongs on the side.
SX Land Camera Birthday Cake - This is one of my favorite cakes because its of the old school cameras they used to have. You can get their picture printed like its coming out of the camera and the banner says "Oh snap it's **** Birthday!"
