Everyone loves a good crab dip! This one is perfect since it is cooked and served directly out of a Crockpot. Make it up ahead of time, turn the slow cooker on, and set out dippers – so easy.

This hot crab dip is absolutely perfect for a party, potluck gathering, or even just a movie night at home with your family. It’s best with buttery crackers to spread, but it worked well with celery sticks too, if you’re looking for a low carb appetizer.

4- Add shredded cheese. Cover and cook an additional 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Switch to “keep warm” setting and serve with dippers directly out of the Crockpot.

Can this Crockpot crab dip be frozen?

Freezing is not recommended due to the high amount of dairy in this recipe. Completely cooled dip can be stored in a lidded container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Reheat in the microwave if desired.

Can imitation crab meat be used?

Fresh, real crab meat is definitely going to taste the best, but it might not be in everyone’s budget. Imitation crab meat can be used, just be sure to flake it well before adding it to the slow cooker.

Wow! This is excellent! Reminds me of a crab dip we had while we were at the beach. We actually realized we were short on the cream cheese [had 8 oz instead of 16] when we went to make it, so we added in 8oz of pimento cheese. Loved this!
